Finally!

Finally, the shrimp are here, and in one piece! I’m super busy with school and my personal life at the moment, but I just quickly wanted to share some initial photos and videos of the little guys and girls.

^ The bags they came in. They sent me 4 extra red cherry shrimp free of charge!

The single casualty of the journey can be seen near the left side of the bucket. Unfortunate, but it happens. You can also see the drip acclimatization I set up on the left side. Basically, it just drips water from the established tank into the water they were transported in. This helps minimize the shock of different water parameters.

From a distance, the shrimp are hardly visible. Hopefully the colony will continue to grow and eventually fill out the space a little better!

Note: I did just tie a piece of fabric over the filter (on the right) to prevent shrimp from being sucked up. A more appropriate sponge covering is on the way!
