I know it’s blurry, but see if you can spot the anything interesting! Hint: it’s somewhere below the bigger shrimp in the center of the frame.

I’m a grandfather! I know it may seem a bit disingenuous to show such a blurry photo and act like it’s difficult to see, but in fact I think it’s much easier to see in this picture than it was in real life. For reference, this little guy is only about half the size of a grain of rice. Although it’s not very clear, I’m so glad I was able to capture this moment. At this time, I’m really not sure what color it is, but I’m interested to see if the babies will be blue, red, something in between, or a handful of both. Of course, that’s assuming that there are others, but my hopes are high!
P.S. If you look at the far right side of the picture, you’ll see what looks like a pure white shrimp. It’s actually a molted shrimp exoskeleton! In my next post, I’ll share a bit more about what that is and why shrimp make them.
